Our learn to play programs only require a lacrosse stick (boys or girls)

Girls' lacrosse players in grade one and beyond need just three pieces of required equipment: a lacrosse stick, mouthguard, and protective eyewear. Because girls' lacrosse is a non-contact sport, the equipment list is much shorter than in other versions of the game. Some players choose to wear approved headgear or gloves, but those items are optional.

Boys' lacrosse players in grade one and beyond need additional protective equipment because the sport includes body contact. Players will need a stick, helmet, gloves, mouthguard and protective cup for grade 1-2. Shoulder pads and arm pads are added for grade 3 and above. Many players also wear rib pads for added protection, though they are not required.

Please be sure that your child has required equipment for all practices and games or they will not be permitted to play. No jewelry is allowed on the field – including earrings in newly pierced ears.

HYL provides goalie equipment. The equipment includes the following: helmet with face mask, separate throat protector, chest protector, abdominal and pelvic protection, goalie gloves, and leg padding on the shins and thighs.
